Environmental Impact: Powered by the Stars

Implementing an environmentally friendly plan for the years to come is of utmost importance to us. While Planetarium Cusco has always respected the surrounding nature, using natural elements and minimal impact in service management, at the beginning of 2022, we accelerated the transition to sustainable energy with solar panels. We are committed to developing an internal ecosystem to minimize our carbon footprint as much as possible.

Social Impact

For many years, Planetarium Cusco has offered daytime educational sessions to schools and educational institutions in the city of Cusco, facilitating access to astronomy through a social-rate program.

Looking ahead to 2026, this commitment evolves into Under the Same Sky, a socio-environmental impact program that aims to bring astronomy, science, and Andean cosmology to children and young people from high-Andean communities who face access barriers due to distance and limited resources.

Beyond teaching astronomy, the program offers immersive experiences, hands-on activities, and cultural knowledge that strengthen identity, well-being, and curiosity, helping new generations connect with the universe and with their own potential.

Through partnerships with social and non-profit organizations, and supported by our astrotourism activities, Under the Same Sky seeks to expand access to high-quality scientific experiences in rural and vulnerable settings, contributing to a more inclusive and hopeful future.

Nomadic Dome

The planetarium travels to the communities.

A mobile dome that brings immersive astronomical experiences to schools and rural territories, bringing science and the sky to places where they had never reached before.

Totem Inka Quest

Learning through play from an Andean worldview.

An interactive experience that combines ancestral storytelling, geolocation, and augmented reality to explore the sky through play.

Sky & Earth

Connecting the sky with life on Earth.

Hands-on activities that link astronomy, natural cycles, agriculture, and well-being, inspired by ancestral Andean knowledge.

Mantay

The Mantay shelter provides shelter, guidance, and training to adolescent mothers from various departments in southern Peru, aged 12 to 18, who are in situations of social risk. We offer a safe haven for these young mothers, where they can receive comprehensive support through our programs. Our mission is to empower adolescent mothers with the skills and knowledge necessary to build a better future for themselves and their families.
